About US : )
We met in a writing class in college and became roommates with very different interests (Patty: tennis / Ruby: art & music). We've stayed in touch for the 30+ years since then, continuing to write each other with an insane array of hilarity and tragedy packed into our "letters". We started our Blog in March of 2009 and kept busy with it through October of 2009 when we took several months off to focus on other projects. We are excited to return now in June of 2010, with fresh stories to tell...
About Ruby
I am happily married (to Scot) and the mother of 5 kids, Skye - 21, Kier - 18, Antigone - 16, Montserrat - 13 and Atticus - 11....plus our adorable Puggle - Calliope Peach, aka "The Peach". Since we started this blog in March of 2009, after I lost my corporate job of 20 yrs., I have continued to reinvent myself...piece by piece; I started writing a book about loving and living with our severely autistic son, Kier...and I started to paint with oils. The big adventure for my family is the imminent foreclosure of our BIG-OLD house and our moving into something (more) affordable in the fall of 2010. In spite of this particualr trauma, I am happier than I have ever been....stay tuned...
"Ruby" was a nickname in college.
About Patty
I have, since our seven month long blog-hiatus, moved from New Orleans to Laguna Beach, CA...while keeping our beloved home in New Orleans, which means that there is not a month that goes by where one or more of us isn't back "home", basking in the pleasures of that special city...while trying to adjust to a new life on the West Coast. My twins, Zack and Madison are in College and Parker is with me, still in high school. Stay tuned for glimpses into the newly defined world of fun and challenges, chez Patty...
